Hi I’m Julie and I’m the weight loss consultant at Slimmers4all.
Here’s my story.
I have lost 12 and a half stone in weight myself and it has not only changed my life it has most definitely saved my life.
Having battled with my weight for over 25 years and being obese had tried every trick in the book. Slimming clubs, lost a few stone and then gained it back plus more. Tablets from the doctor failed. Shakes and meal preps failed because they were so monotonous! Nothing worked or was sustainable!
In March 2017 aged 48 years old and battling an incurable disability decided to give it one last attempt!
I didn’t want to be fat and 50!!!
I wanted to be healthier to spend more time with my grandchildren and do some of the things I missed out on with my own children.
I reluctantly joined a well known slimming club! 3 miles from where I live in the hope that I wouldn’t know anyone as I was ashamed of what I weighed!
I weighed in that night at a massive 25 stone 1lb!!!
I joined expecting to fail… fast forward about 6 months and I’d dropped 6 stone.
However things started to plateau! I was following the programme to the letter and I stopped losing weight!
No one could help me or answer the questions as to why this was happening to me. I was told by my leader and her manager that if I followed the programme 100% I would lose 2lb per week!
This was a massive danger point to me and I had to seriously think about how I felt in myself. I felt great! In fact I felt better than I had in years but I knew that if I gave up which I was very close to, that I would end up back to square one.

So… I started doing some research and analysing not just what I was eating but how much I was eating.
I realised I’d been taught that a lot of food was free and I could eat the free food unlimited!
Well I couldn’t… I started tracking my calorie intake and realised I was probably eating more than double the recommended calorie intake for an adult every day while thinking I was being good!!!
I reduced my calories by nearly half but continued going to my class every week as I needed someone to be accountable to!
The weight started shifting again and after a few more weeks I wasn’t following their plan at all. I was doing this my way and it was working for me!
I was cooking everyday family food just a healthier version and it felt amazing.
By December 2017 I had lost 8 stone and started doing gentle exercise to help me tone up.
A good friend of mine Drew Lasker, founder of the Trainharder and T21H brands wrote me up an exercise plan around my disability and to my own capabilities.
Shortly after I started swimming and Aquafit!
I was loving my life, loving my food and even loving the exercise!
I was turning into a new me!
Counting my calorie intake was the way forward for me, I could plan my meals to fit in with my lifestyle and work around social events much easier than anything I’d ever done before. This was sustainable!
October 17th 2018 I reached my target weight of 12 stone 7 pounds. With a total weight loss of 12 stone 8lbs.
December that year I celebrated my 50th birthday. I had succeeded in what I set out to do! I wasn’t fat and 50!
I’d went from a size 30/32 down to a size 12!
By this time I was giving advice to friends who found they’d also started struggling and developed a passion and desire to help other people. I had my success story featured in Best magazine and Take a break and also my local newspaper!
I was asked to become the first ambassador of Drew’s company as he said I was everything Trainharder stood for. I’d worked my socks off to become the best version of myself!
It was here that I knew I wanted to help others become the best version of themselves. Knowing fully well by my own experiences that not only was this possible but it was sustainable too and I founded Slimmers4all the only weekly slimming group that supports calorie counting.
I have been at my target weight for over 2 years now and I have a lot of exciting plans in the pipeline!
